The design by slapa oberholz pszczuly architekten and JSK Pszczulny & Rutz Architekci, taking charge of general project planning in a joint venture together with engineering firms SSF Ingenieure and Schüßler-Plan, features a compact and flexible passenger with a built-in capacity to adapt easily to changing requirements and increasing passenger numbers even after completion. The transparent gate, which has two Airbus A380 bays, is set on a recessed base above the surrounding runway and projects from the existing Terminal 1 building to create a uniform structure.
