“We were involved in the extensive theatre complex right from the start as part of a permanent team comprising a construction company, specialist planners, and architects. Together, we managed to successfully realise this challenging construction project within budget and on time despite the tight schedule”.

Tilo Hering, Head of Building Construction Department in Munich

“By using the BIM method, all information relevant to the planning and technical realisation was continuously available to all parties involved in all execution phases – this was truly indispensable for such a complex project.”

Florin Pavel, Project Engineer for Building Construction and BIM Coordinator in Munich

Diverse utilisation requirements

In order to accommodate the diverse usage requirements, the load-bearing structure of the new building was mainly made of reinforced concrete, partly in combination with composite ceilings and steel roof structures with supporting widths of up to 20 metres. The roofing of the main stage (stage tower) is a steel structure made of Vierendeel girders with a clear span of approx. 20.20 m. The additional loads from the stage technology and the fly loft had to be taken into account. The ceiling of the auditorium is a combined reinforced concrete/steel composite structure that supports the upright building services centre as a reinforced concrete frame girder with a clear span of approx. 25.50 m.
